Hi

Couple of questions ref the electrics on my recently acquired 24V FFR...

1. I'm replacing and extending the cable supplying power to the coil filter unit and the existing stuff (maybe replaced by previous owner) looks a bit feeble. What sort of current does the filter unit/coil draw? I think 3A was mentioned on a previous posting some time ago but can't seem to find it.

2. Earlier today after an incident free, albeit short, drive...on re-starting the engine the starter motor continued spinning (at least that's what it sounded like)...quickly turned off and at the same time noticed a lovely plume of smoke coming from around the ignition switch.
On checking the switch the start terminal remains "live" even when the switch is at the ignition position so it obviously needs replacing. I'm assuming the switch has just decided to fail...but could this be caused/be a symptom of something else at fault ie starter motor/solenoid etc? Any thoughts/advice appreciated, thanks.

Ed

id take a guess the solenoid is not disengageing allowing the starter to continue spinning
its not the end of the world to replace it
