once you have all got your nice new tilts, do let me know if you have an older one to off load as I'll be looking for one with the "rattyish" look for my project in due course. No urgency as long way off and need sticks as well but is on the needed list

cheers, David

Stupid question - is that canvas in the picture?

Great news! My tilt was waiting for me at home last night! Very Happy

With some help from my pal Chris we have put it on and it looks amazing. Unfortunatly the few photos I took at 9pm last night came out terribly and I'm in London today so can't upload. I did put a couple of rubbish pics on the militarylightweight forum last night if you can't wait to see it (http://forum.militarylightweight.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=169) I will get some more pictures up later this evening with any luck.

Thanks to Steve from Undercover Covers who gave me some free tailgate chain gaurds and pioneer tool straps. Cool

It WAS worth the wait. Highly reccomended! Very Happy

Edit: I have just tried to phone Undercover covers to pay them (they tore up my original cheque as they where going to knock some money off) and they have shut down for 2 weeks...

No, that's the new one - which will be available for sale from Undercover Covers when I return it because the replacement arrived today. There's nothing wrong with the one in the photo, its just that the "sunroof" wasn't in the position I'd requested.

The old one was still weatherproof, but tatty, with an opaque window and the strap that attached it to the hooks at the top of the windscreen had snapped.

Same silly question - I can't tell what material the new covers are made of? it doesn't look like canvas?

It certainly looks & feels like canvas. I can't tell if its 100% cotton or containing some polyester, but it looks right on the truck. Here are some closeup photos.

Google around on the internet , there is a now obsolete Def. Stan. for Canvas Duck , tentage , ships awnings etc.etc. ISTR it was tied in with a British Standard that was dropped for a EU Standard.

There is differences in quality , weight , as well as anti-rot impregnation against basic rot , tropical rot & bog rot etc.

I once read it and came to the conclusion that hood makers could probably make a few pence extra profit by use of cheaper grades , this is probably why some shrink more than others Sad

Some "sunroof" photos. I'm very pleased with the additional light that this provides. Despite the recent downpours I've not been able to check its leakproofness, but a tube of seam sealer should be able to solve anything untoward.

The one that Undercovers will have available once I return it will have the sunroof between the rear & centre hoops.
